Lord Nelson was wellknown to breeders in the AVairarapa, and ~ gained many honours in the show ring, not '< only here, but in the South Island. The Masher gained first prize in Masterton in IXBS also Mr Lawrence's special of £5 for the best foal by Lord Nelson, and in 1880 he gained " first at Carterton. It is needless to say any more as the above named horses were so well and favorably known in the Wairarapa, is in itself a sufficient guarantee to breeders.
