THEATRE ROYAL

Concert in &i& of the Peacock Family The concert given in the Theatre Royal last evening in aid of the Peacock family, who were rendered homeless a few days ago through the des truction of their houso by fire, was not as well atteudod as it might have

Volunteers as an expression of practical sympathy for one jrho was highly respected both as a oitr/en and comrade. The progr-unine submitted was a highly interesting one, and although two of the principal contributors—Messr3 Duff and Hunn. of Greytown —were unavoidably absent, was carried through without a hitch. The stage appointment*' were most elaborate, thanks to the generosity of Messrs Hounslow and' Hoar, who provided the furniture for the occasion. The entertainment wns brought to a close with the comio operetta, '* The Blind Beggars," in whioh ' M*srs Bray and Iggulden appeared artful mendicants.
