The owner of Master Agnes announces in theadyertising columns of this journal for the third year in succession that the son of Cassi vellaunutf and Fair Agnes will stand this season at White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at tue fee of of sgs. Master Agnes' tabulated "edigrce reads as under : His sire, Cissivellaunus (who is now dead), only raced twice in England, and that was as a two year old when he won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agnes, he has sired in this colony Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Moss Rose, Puritan and other good racers. Cassivellaunuß' sire Caractiicuß won the Derby at Epsom in 1862, , and his dam Campanile, iB a daughter of the ( emperor of stallions, Stockwell. Kair Agnes, the dam of Master Agnes, is a daughter of the imported hay Middleton hors« St Aubyn, and is out of Phoebe, the maternal ancestress of so many good horses including Pinfire's d m, Queen of the South, ParaWhenua's dam, Countess, Maca s dam, Raupo; Wolverine's dam, Tangi, aud Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with MaU for the Dunedin Cup of 187!>. Phcebe was a daughter of the King of Australian sires, Sir Hercules. Fair Agnes in addition to Mister Agnes, has thrown another good hurdle racer in Slagnesia and a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'Boiiheur and her sons. Maroro, Chokebore, and Badsworth, were all above the average on the Turf. As a two year old Master Agnes won the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting and he followed this up by getting home in front of a field of five in the Two year old Handicap, but was disqualified on the ground of a cross. At the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting he ran third to Water Nymph and Sir Belvidere in the Champagne Stakes. TI'KMS— Single Mares, £5 sa. Groomage Fee, ss. Two or moie Mares as per agreement. Tlia Masher is a beautiful dark bay, with black pohits, has immense bone, and plenty of hair, is extremely good-tempered, and has splendid style and action, bred by Mr R. Dagg, Masterton, and is out of his prize mare Grace, by Lord Nelson. Grace cut of Jenny, by Young Prince Charley. Jenny was bred by Mr A." Coc'tburn, Manaia, and is out of Jess by Young Loftv. Grace was only exhibited once when she gained first as a two year old. Jenny,- Masher's grand dam was only exhibited three times, gaining three first and two special prizes. Lord Nelson was wellknown to breeders in the Wairarapa, and gained many honours in the show ring, not only here, but in the South Island. The Slasher gained first prize in Masterton in 1885 also Mr Lawrence's special of £5 for the b«st foal by Lord Nelson, and in 1880 he gained first at Carterton. It is needless to say any more as the above named horses were so well and favorably known in the AVairaiapa, is in itself a sufficient guarantee to breeders. The Masher will travel to Grcytown on Tuesdays aud Masterton on Thursdays, and the rest of the week at his owner's stables, Park Road, } Carterton.
