BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the North Wairarapa Benevolent Society was held in the Institute Chambers this morning. Present—Messrs K, M. Galloway (Chairman),'J. Stuckey, K. D. Dagg, and S. E. The Chairman and Secretary were empowered to arrange for the future maintenance of these children as provided by the Aot. An application from J. S. Stevenson for temporary assistance was not entertained, A vote of thanks was wassed to the Dorcas Society for the valuable assistance rendered in special cases of distress. It was resolved that the Society having strained every effort to get the WilliainsTamily back to their own district, an immediate demand be made upon the Wanganui Charitable Aid Board for a refund of monies advanced to date, the man Williams holding a aiedioal certificate that he is unable to travel.
