The winner of any handicap of the advertised value of LSO after declaration of weiglts to carry a penalty of five pounds ; the winner of any handicap of the advertised value of LIOO after declaration of weights to carry a penalty ot seven pounds. Penalties to be cumulative. Hack and Hurdle races excepted. EULES and REGULATIONS— All races to be run under the lules of racing. In case of a protest the must be lodged with the Secretary within 15 minutes after the race has been run, with a deposit of £2, such deposit to be forfeited if the protest be found to be frivolous or vexatious. No scratching of horses allowed, unless through t'ne Secretary, and 30 minutes before the time oi starting. No entry will be received for any race except under the conditions that all claims, disputes, and objectiDns arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, anil their decision upon all points shall be final. All Nominations, Kntranees, Acceptances, etc., accompanied by the necessary amount, mnst be addressed to' the Secretary, Masterton. No entry will be received after the hour named on any pretence whatever. Any Jockey riding, except in colours, will be fined 2 sovs. The amount for second horse will be deducted '.fromtiie advertised amouut of stakes The winner of Selling Hack P.ace to be sold immediately after the race for 20 sovs any surplus to be divided between the Club and the second horse.
Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. A Hack shall mean a horse that has never, daring this racing season, started for or entered for, webht-for-age, or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies, Champagnes, or Guineas, to be run for this racing season, Hack Races excepted. NOMINATIONS— Nominat : cns for all Handicaps [to be sealed and aldressed to the Secretary] close at Mascerton on Wednesday, December 2, at 8 p.m., or on arrival of train from Wellington. * Weights to be declared on Wednesday, December 9, at fe p.m. Entries, including Maiden Hack Kace, and Selling Hack Race, and acceptances on Saturday, lUth December, at 9 p.m, or on arrival of train fom Wellington. Nomiuations for Consolation Handicap to be made to the Secretary 15 minutes after the Telegraph Stakes is run Weights will be declared 15 minutes after nominations have closed. Acceptances will close 15 minutes after the weights have been declared. . The enclosure opposite the Grand Stand is reserved for members and their families only upon production of ticket.
