LAND BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Land Board was held yesterday morning. Present—Messrs J. H. Baker, Commissioner (in the chair) W. A. Fiteherbert, W. W. MoCardle, and A. W-. Hogg, M.H.R. Application! to obtain titles were approved as follows :—Sections 8 Block VII,, Mangaone,"E. Vince | Seotion 2, Blook X, TararuaTX Farrow; Section 6, Block IV, Belmottt, W. Cook. The following applications to obtain titles were not approved as the conditions of the Act had not been complied with :—Lot 8, Alfredtofi, J. A. Smith ; Section 23, Block X, Mangahao, W. P. Hartstone ; Seotion 86, Blook VI, Mangone, N. With regard to Mr Har!»tomi|«£*a>plication, Mr Hag?en of Woodvn*, wrote stating that the improvements were done, and it was resolved to refer the statement to the Hunger to report at once, and tho question, of issuing the. title was deferred until next meeting. Ayrton; Section 43, Blook X» Mangahao, H. Macey; Section 3, Block X, Mangahao, F. 0, Smith ; Seotion 44, Block X, Mangahao, M, A Baron, sections 81 and 82, Block XIV, Mangahno, F. King ; Section 132, Block 111, Mangahao, J. Kelso; section 54, Block X. Mangahao, 11. R. Wilton. Mr J. Corkhill's amplication to capitalise on section 112, Block VI, Mangahao, was approved provisionally on the' Commissioner being satisfied that the Act has been complied with. The Surveyor* General wrote stating that the Minister of Lands was of opinion that deferred payment selectors who desire to complete .their payments should make their applications to capitalise at their own instance without the benefit of capitalisation being pointed' out to them. Mr'Ti ajpplipation $ cbpygrt section 3, Block iy, Ma,kurjj frprn perpetual lease to the deferred payment system was approved: Bection 91, Blook VII. Mangahao, Mr J. McCalmonfc to A. Dawson and E. Selby. Mr L M. Grace, as attorney for Mr 0. W Grace, applied to be allowed to*, transfer the lease of the Taharua,
South block to Mr H. Smith. Approved. Mr E. A. Campbell applied to be allowed to transfer 600 acres of his Rtnall run, No 27, Waipukura, to Mr A. J. Bertie. It was decided to obtaiu the ranger's report befoS? further considering the matter. Mr C. Burton applied to t-ike Mr J. H. Price into partnership in Section 172, Block XII., Mangaone. Approved. Miss M E. Hughey applied for permission to transfer Section 21, Block XIV., Pohangma, to her father, Mr D. Hnghej, instead of to Messrs Costall and Port, as previously approved by the Board. On the motion of Mr Hogg secluded by Mr Fitzherbert, it was decided " That under clause 117 in the Land Act, 1885, that this • Board does not think fit to accept Mr Hughey as transferee." R. C. Wilson applied for exemption from residence X., Makun, until March, 1892. Approved. The Mauriceville Road
Board forwarded plans and proposals for expending accrued thirds, which were approved. The selector of Sections 6 and 7, Block VIII., Wainaiora, forwarded a doctor's certificate that he was unfit for work, and it was decided to accept the surrender. She Commissioner informed the Board that the boundaries of Section 11, Block 111.. Mekurihad been amended. The selector of Section 81, BJock XI, Mangaone, explained the reason for his being so far ia arrear with his payments. It was decided to tell him that he must take steps to overtake the arrears by the New Year, and either reside on the land or do double improvements. The Commissioner laid on the table a schedule of selectors in arrear with their payments, and it was resolved that all those who had not paid before the next meeting,- or the 17th proximo, they would be sued for the amount in arrear. It was resolved to urge the Minister of Lands to offer the 12 acre sections in the Tutaekara Native reserve without delay under the village homestead system conditions, and that the two sections at the back be offered at the same time for auction. Mr G. Hutchison, M.H.R., waited on the Bpard, and stated that one of the Misses Verdon was ill, and it was therefore decided to postpone the enquiry as to the reasons why the law had not been complied with with regard to the Section held by them at until next meeting. The Board then adjourned until December lfrh.
