The »*-ner ' of Master Agnes announces in the advertising columns of this journal for the third year in succession that the son of Co.«Bi vellaunus and Fair Agnes will stand this season at White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at ti.e fee of of ugs. Master Agnes' tabulated pedigree reads as under : His sire, Oissivellaumis (who is now dead), only raced twice in England, and that was as a two year old when lie won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agnes, he has sired in this colony Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Moss Rose, Turitan and other good racers. Cassivollnunus' sire Caractacus won the Derby at Epsom in 1862, and his dam Campanile, is a daughter of the emperor of stallions, Stockvvcll. Fair Agnes, the dam of Master Agnes, is a daughter of the imported hay Middleton hors-s St Aubyn, and is out of Phcebe, the maternal ancestress of so many good horses including Pinfire's d m, Queen of the South, I'ara"Whenua's dam, Countess, Maca s dam, Raupo; Wolverine's dam, Ta'igi, and Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with Mat:i for the Dunedin CupoflSTK. Phoebe was a daughter of the King of Australian sires, Sir Hercules. Fair Agnes in addition to Mister Agnes, has thrown another good hurdle racer in Magnesia ami a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'Hoiiheur ami her sons. Maroro, Chokcbore, and Ba.lsworth, were all above the average on the Turf. As a two year old Master Agnes won the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting and he followed this up by getting home in front of a field of five in the Two year old Handicap, but was disqualified on the ground of a cross. At the Cf.C. It is needless to say any more as the above named horses were so well ami favorably known in the 'Wairaiapa, is in itself a sufficient guarantee to breeders.
