The r>,vner of Master Agnes announces in the advertising columns of this journal for the third year in succession that the sou of Cassi . vcllaiinus and Fair Agnes will stand this season at White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at the fee of of ygs. Master Agnes' tabulated pedigree reads as under : ' His sire, Gissivellaunus (who is now dead), only raced twice in England, and that was as a two year old when he won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agnes, lie has sired in this colony Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Moss Rose, Puritan and other good racers. Cassivellaunus' sire Caracfacus won the Derby at Epsom in 1862, and bis dam Campanile, ia a daughter of the emperor of stallions, Stookwcll. i'nir Agnes, t!ie dam of Master Agnes, is a daughter of the imported hay Middleton horao St Aubyn, and is out of Phoebe, the maternal ancestress of so many good horses including Pmfire's d in, Queen of tbu South, TaraWhenua's dam, Countess, Maia s dam, Raupo; Wolverine's dam, Tangi, a„d Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with Matu for the Dunedin Cup of 187!'. Phcebe was a daughter of the King of Australian sires. Sir Hercules. Fair Agnes in addition to Mister Agues, lias thrown another good hurdle racer in Magnesia and a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'lioidieur and her sons. Maroro, Chokcbore, and Ba.isworth, were all above the average on the Turf. As a two year old Master Agnes won the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting and ho followed this up by getting home in front of a field of five in the Two year old 'Handicap, but was disqualified on the ground of a cross. At the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting he ran third to Water JVymph anil Sir Relvidere in the Champagne Stakes. TtRMS-Single Mares, £b os. Groomage Fee, ss. Two or moie Mares as per agreement. The Masher gained first prize in Masterton in ISSS also Mr Lawrence's special of tV> for the bust foal by Lord Nclvjii, and in 18.SG he gained first at Carterton. It ia needless to say any more as the above named hordes were so well anil favorably known in the'Wairaiapa, is in itself a sufficient guarantee to breeders. The Manlier will travel to Greytown on Tuesdays and Masterton on Thui sdays, and the rest of the week at his owner's stables, Park Road, Carterton.
