The winner of any handicap of the advertised value of LSO after declaration of weiglts to carry a penalty of five pounds ; the winner of any handicap of the advertised value of LIOO after declaration of weights to carry a penalty ot seven pounds. Penalties to be cumulative. Hack and Hurdle races excepted. RULES and REGULATIONS— All races to be run under the rules of racing. In case of a protest the same must be lodged with the Secretary within 15 minutes after the race has been run, with a deposit of £2, such deposit to bo forfeited if the protest be found to be frivolous or vexatious. No scratching of horses allowed, unless through the Secretary, and 30 minutes before the time of starting, No entry will be received for any race except under the conditions that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points Khali be final. All Nominations, Entrances, Acceptances, etc., accompanied by the necessary amount. must he addressed to the Secretary, Mas. terton. No entry will be received after the hour named on any pretence whatever. Any Jockey riding, except in colours, will be fined 2 sovs. The amount for second horse will be deducted jfiom the advertised amount of stakes The winner of Selling Hack Bace to be sold immediately after the race for 20 sovs any surplus to be divided between the Club and the second horse. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. J A Hack shall mean a horse that has never, during this racing season, started for or entered for, weight-for-age, or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies, Champagnes, or I Guineas, to be run for this racing season, | Hack Races excepted. NOMINATIONS— Nominations for all Handicaps [to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary] close at Masterton on Wednesday, December 2, at 8 p.m., or on arrival ef train from Wellington. Weights to be declared on Wednesday, December 9, at 6 p.m. Entries, including Maiden Hack Race, and Selling Hack Race, and acceptances on Saturday, 19th December, at 9 p.m, or on arrival of train fo'in Wellington. Nominations for Consolation Handicap to be made to the Secretary 15 .minutes after the Telegraph Stakes is run Weights will be declared 15 minutes after nominations have closed. Acceptances will close 15 minutes after the weights have been declared. The enclosure opposite the Grand Stand is reserved for members and their families only upon production of ticket.
