BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Oommittee Meeting-
A meeting of the Works Committee of the Masterlou Borough Counoil was held last evening, there being ♦ prebent Crs Heron (in the chair), Gapper, and Mutrie. The report of the Oveweer waa read as follows : I beg to report that during the pist month the following works have been done—Ruts raked in in Benall street; cleaning Queen, Church, Dixon, Albert, Perry, and Chapel streets; clearing gorse in Lincoln road, Columba road and South street has taken up a good deal of time. I regret to say that lam at present laid up with influenza, and unable to attend the meeting to-night. It was resolved that the culvert at the Royal Hotel he finished at the ends with bricks and cement ; that the drains in South Road be attended to; "x----that tenders bo invited for the 1 Borough cartage for twelve months, tho Committee being of opinion that it is premature to arrange for the Council doing its own cartage until the question of » permanent site for the Fire Brigade is settled. Permission was granted to Mr C, T. Natusch to shift his approach in Hall-street to the new entrance. It was resolved to call for tenders for work in Columba Road, to close at the next meeting of the Council. j Accounts amounting to £9219 aßd were recommended for payment.
