The unfortunate defendants in the Picturesquo Atlas cases express very strong sentiments against Mr Pownall's Mayoral candidature. The Egmont Farmers' Union have declared a dividend if 8 per cent, the maximum allowed under the articles cf association. A young man named Edward Howard, of Carterton, met with a nasty accident yesterday. He was getting from one dray to another, when he slipped and fell, tearing the flesh from his leg below the knoe and exposing the bone. He was immediately driven to the Greytown Hospital, where Dr Bey at'ended to him. A pleasine ceremony was performed at St. Lukn's Churoh, Greytown, this morning, by the Bov\ B. H. Wyatt, when Miss Cooler, of Featherston, and i Mr O. W. Langstono, Voterinary Surgeon, of Greytown, were united in the bonds of mitriuiotiy. The wedding brenkfast was held at the residence of Mr H. Cook. The Criminal Sessions of the Supremo Court open on Monday next. So far the following cases appear upon the calender: —Chas. Ogier, forgery and uttering; Arthur Robinson, robbery with violence; Murdoch McKenzie, forgery (three charges) ; John Reginald, alias A. O. Crawford, forgery (five charges); James Conlon, lareeny; Samuel Timmins, assault with intent to ravish; Harry Percy Fisher alias Gilbert, false pretences ; Henry Walters alias Dutch Harry, housebreaking; W. H. Powell and Frank Rogers, false pretences ; John Brazil and James Qutnn, larceny from the person ; Chas. S. Senger alias Alfred lilyth, larceny from a dwelling ; Herbert Ayers, breaking and entering; George Howe, larceny from the person ; Alfred Richards alias Samuel Henry Richards and John Howard, larceny from a dwelling.
