Death of the Son- James FultonDunedin, November 20. The Hon. James Fulton, M.L.C. died this afternoon at the Taieri, it ii supposed from heart disease. He wai years' Resident Magistrate at Outraui and afterwards became member foi Taieri. He was called to the Uppei House by Sir H. Atkinson tbis year He leaves a widow and three sons and three daughters, nil grown up. Influenza at Voodyilfe. The Mala School ClosedWoodville, .November 20. Th 9 Woodville main school closed to-day for six weeks owing to influenza having reduced the attend ance from 320 to 153. The school will re-open on January 4th, Accidents and Fatalities. Dunedin, November 20. At the inquest touching the death James Wilson, who was shot at the ~ butts to-day, the jury in a verdict that he was accidentally killed by a shot from the rifle of Gunner Davyaywho was exonerated from all blame." None of the members of the Irish Rides were called to ascertain if a shot bad been fired by any member of that corps at the same time, though it seems just as probable that a shot from one of them at the wrong target was as likely to have hit. Joseph Hemming, an old man 67 years of age, was driving a hay cart down Wyndham street this morning, when the horse boiled, and the wheel -of the cart passed over his abdomen. Hemming sustained a very severe fracture of the thish bone, and was taken to the hospital. His recovery is doubted. Later. Hemming died soon after admission to the hospital. His injuries included concussion of the brain, as well as fracture of the thigh. He was a farmer residing at East Taranaki. When the horse bolted he tried to save himself by jumping out of his cart, bat in doing so he fell under one of the wheels. L
