A good many parents will probably thank Mr Easthope for calling tion last evening to the cost of school books. He alleged that high prices were charged to parents and that practically there was compulsion on the part of the latter to find the money. The reference made to the Ednciition Board may do good, but it would iiavfi been far more effective if a Sub-Committee had been appointed to ascertain the difference bg;ween the wholesale and retail prices of the books m generalise. The point as to whether reasonable or unreasonable charges are made against parents ought to be beared up.
