G. A. Fairbrother y 0. Benzie. Claim for dishonored promissory note. Judgment for amount, with costs 21s. James Bayliss v Kahu.— Claim, £4 i)s. Mr Acheson for plaintiff. Judgment for amount, with coats 365, and solicitor's fee 21a. H. Tanored v William Morris. This was a caao heard at last sitting. His Worship declined jurisdiction. Costs were allowed the defendant's counsel, 21s, with Court costs 3s, and witness' expenses Bs. F. Meenken v T. A. Weston. This ease was also heard st last sitting. Plaintiff nonsuited, with costs 15s, witnesses' expenses £2 lie, and solicitor's fee 21s.
James Bayliss t. Isaac Hutana.— Claim, XlO 4s 9d foi goods supplied. Mr Acheson for plaintiff, MrPownall for defendant. Judgment for plaintiff for £1 Os 9d and costs 40s. PICTURKSQUB ATLAS CASH.
Bowerman Bros v. Eli Strawbridgo. Mr Skerrett for plaintiffs, Mr Beard for defendant.
It was stated by counsel for the plaintiff in his opening address that the evidence of Metcalf as ti> the genuineness of che signature had besn taken at Christchurch. (This evidence was pit t in). William Bundle and Donald M'lntyre gave evidence similar to that given in the previous caw. Edward Boddington, accountant at the Union Bank of Australasia at Wellington, gave export evidence as to the handwriting on the order. Thomas Bennett also gave evidence as to the signature. Hhe Bench considered sufficient evidttnee was not forthcoming as to
the legality of the signature to the contract, and the plaintiffs were again non-suited, with costs 3h, witness expenses 10s, and solicitors fee 21s. Leave to appeal was granted.
