The d*ner of Master Agnes announces in the advertising columns of this journal for the third year in succession that the bob of Ca»si vellaunus and Fair Agnes will stamd this season at White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at the fee of of sgs. Master Agnes' tabulated pedigree reads as under : His sire, Cassivellaunus (wha is mow dead), only raced twiee ia England, and that was as a two year old when he won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agnes, he has sired in tfak colony Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Moss Rose, Puritan and other good racers. CassiveUaunus' sire Caractaeus won the Derby at Epsom in 1862, and his dam Campanile, is a daughter of the emperor of stallions, Stoekwoll. Fair Agnes, the darn of Master Agnes, is a daughter of the imported bay Middleton hors« St Aubyn, and is out of Phoebe, the maternal ancestress of so many good horses including Pinfire's d:m, Queen of the South, ParaWhcnua's dam, Countess, Mava s dam, Ranpo; Wolverine's dam, Tangi, aud Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with Mata for the Dunedin Cup of 1873. Phoebe was a daughter of the King of Australian sires, Sir Hercules. Fair Agnes in addition to Mister Agnes, has thrown another good hurdle racer in Magnesia and a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'Bouheur and her sons, Maroro, Chokebore, and Badsworth, were all abore the arerage on the Turf. As a two year eld Master Agnes won the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting and ho followed this up by getting home in front of a field of fire in the Two year old Handicap, b«t was disqualified on the ground of a cross. At the C.J.C. Dagg, Masterton, and is out of his prizt mare Grace, by Lord Nelson. Grace <ut of Jenny, by Young Prince Charley. Jenny was bred by Mr A. Coc'tburn, Manaia, and is out of Jess by Young Loftv. Grace was only exhibited once when she gained first as a two year old. Jcnney Masher's grand dam was only exIhibited three times, gaining three first and two special prires. Lord Nelson was wellknown to breeders in the Wairarapa, and gained many honours In the show ring, not only here, but in the South Island. The Masher gained first prize in Masterton in 1885 also Mr Lawrence's special of £5 for the best foal by Lord Nelson, and in 1886 he gained first at Carterton. It is needless to say any more as the above named horses were so well and favorably known in the Wairaiapa, is in itself a sufficient guarantee to breeders. The Masher will travel to Grey town on Tuesdays and Masterton on Thursdays, and the rest of the week at his owner's stables, Park Road, Carterton.
