By Telegbaph.—Press Association. A Sow-dy Meeting M Dunedin, November 13. Mr H. S. Fish, M.H.R., to-nigL large meeting of his cot at the Theatrj, the Mayc presiding. The meeting was on th whole very rowdy, the speaker bein continually interrupted by a compart tively few individuals. He detende his claim to belong to the Progressiv Liberal Party, and said his quarn with the Government was because fl their inconsistency in matters of re trenchment. He defended the taxa tion proposals, and thought that i was not driving capital from th< Colony. He defended the Council and considered that their action in the Female Franchise Bill would have redeemed them if it were necessnry. He warned the Government that they should not make appointments from one class. A vote of thanks and con fidence was carried, a large number refraining from voting. Itasonic Installation. Chbistchdbch, November 18. The installation of Bro. Felix Cunningham as District Grand Master Canternnry Masonic Grand Lodge, English Constitution, was performed to-night by Grand Master Bevan, of Westland, in the presence of a large concourse of the fraternity. Flaw Speafcin?. Cheistchtjech, November 18. At the show luncheon to.day the ; Hod. Pharazyn, responding to the Parliament of New Zealand, speaking Legislative Council remarked that it was threatened with extinction by the Knights of Labour and the Maritime Council, who did ' not like the Conncil. It was not ( likely the Judge would be popular j with a burglar upon whom he had passed sentence. But threatened in- j atitutions held long. The Hon. B. < Seddon, responding to the same toast, 1 protested against such remarks and - said that with some present members of Parliament were teimed a bad lot, ; but with the great' majority it was the . pink ot perfection, By an overwhelming majority the electors had sent to Parliament men who were equal, if ' not to any preceding set of men returned, and. majorities-must , rule.
