RABBIT BOARD.
The first meeting of the newly- ""■ elected North Wairarapa Rabbit v Board waß held yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs J. Groves junr, A. Murray, F. Moore, Whatman, Elder and Inspector Drummond. It was proposed by Mr Murray, and seconded by Mr Elder, that Mr Moore be elected Chairman—Carried, The minutes of the previous ordiuary and special meetings jere read . and confirmed.
Correspondence was read as follows : From the Covnty Council, replying to the Board's application for use of room for meetings; from Handyside Roberts & Co., making payment of rates under protest; telegram ,re gazetting the new Board; from R. Hornblow, applying for .the Board's printing; from N. Z. Loan Company, enclosing letter from London agent re shipment of stoats and weasels, and charging for boxes now lying on their hands. j Mr Murray proposed, and Mr Groves seconded, that Mr Moore and Mr Drumtnond be appointed to wait upon Mr Foster, of tho Mercantile Company in Wellington, to sec what arrangements were made in ordering stoats and weasels for the Board, before acceding to the request for payment.
After a deal of discussion upon Mr Hornblow'e application for the job printing, Mr Groveß proposed and Mr Whatman seconded, that thejrßoa/d'a job printing be tendered for, and given to the lowest tenderer.—Carried.
A vote of thank's was passed to tho Wairarapa Noith County Counoil for the use of the meeting roo>y» Accounts, including members' expenses, to the amount of £lOl 3s 9i, were passed for payment, It was resolved that the Chairman and Inspector Mackay interview,, the Board's solioitor with' regard to legal expenses in Court cases, etc. The Inspector's report ft'r the past month was read.
The Chairman waß appointed treasurer to the Board.
