THE NATIVE TROUBLE.
A Throfttanlsff Attitude. Gisborne, Saturday. There hss been a Native trouble at Waipiro, which at one time appeared likely to lead to fighting between the rival parties of Natives. Some time since the Native Land Court awarded a portion of the Waipiro Blook toPini Amini, much to the dissatisfaction of the well-known chief Tutu Nihoniho, who applied for a re-liearAg, which wasrefused. |on Monday Tutu came N down from his kianga at Jerusalem, accompanied by 50 armed men, and took possession of Pini Amini's pah. Much excitement wa#" occasioned thereby. The coast police arrived ou the scene, and affairs are now somewhat quieter, Tutu is still holding possession.

The Waipiro correspondent [ telegraphs rt-garding the trouble there. Tuta Minombo still occupies Peni Aminii's pah close to Waipiro town? ship, with sixty or seventy armed followers. Tuta is anxious to talfe a portion of Waipiro block, say 10,000 acres, which he considers tbe Native Land Court robbed him of. Ho professes not to interfere witlj Europeans, and gives unsatisfactory replies when asked his intentions, the Native Minister promises to act firmly and has desired Tuta's people to go back to their settlement. Tuta has'wired the Hon Mr Qadltyn tyify be will take the law into his own hands if the law will not give him redress, Pini's people are afraid to 5? for food to thejr cultivations, which are occupied by Tula's men', ftir fteoyge fyh'itrhoye is bote.
