Loaylty of the ITatlvM. Br Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. News from Raratonga by the Richmond is that things are very quiet throughout the island, and that under the regime of the British Resident (Mr Moss) the new lawß are working satisfactorily. The Herald correspondent at Raratonga writes:—When the news was interpreted to the Aitutakians that England and Russia were likely to come to loggerheads over the Dardanelles question, a number of them waited on MdrMoss a»d told him they were prepared to pro* oeed to Turkey to uphold the honor of their new mother (Queen Victoria).
