CORRESPONDENCE.

The Ifayoral Election.

(to thk editor.)

Sib.—lt is rumoured about the town that Mr E. Feist is brought forward m a candidate for Mayor by the local CTanch of the New Zealand Alliance. This is not true. The New Zealand Alliance is a Colonial institution and does not concern itself with local mopjcipal elections, aa they are foreign to tbe great object the Alliance has in view. It is quite possible that the members of the Alliance may support either candidate for the Mayoralty, but as a body the Alliance will take no part in the election at all. Wir. M. Easthope, Prudent Masterton Branch IN.Z.A.
