Races to bo run under Metropolitan Rules. 2. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom theTmay appoint, and their decision on all points SHALL BE FINAL. 3. All Nominations, Entries, and Acceptances (to be made in writing, addressed to the Secretary at the ObserTer Office, Carterton), will be received up to the arrival of the late train from "Wellington on the advertised date of closing. No nominations or aecepI tances will be received on any pretence whatever unless accompanied by tho necessary fee. 4. A Hack shall mean a horse that has never started for, or is entered for, a weight for age or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies Champagnes, or Guineas to be run for tin racing season: hack races excepted. :>. In all Nominations fer Handicaps th 0 name, age, pedigree, color, sex, and prcviou performances of the horse, name of owner and colors of rider must bo given. All horses to be ridden in distinguishing colors. 6. Any protest must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within ten minutes after the race to which it refers has been mn, and must be accompanied by 2 sovs., which will be returned only if the protest is sustained. 7. Horses walking over will receive 00 per cent of the Stakes. 8. All persons intending to withdraw Horses are requested to give notice in writing to the Secretary half an hour before the official time of starting such race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding t's, which shall be placed to the credit of the race fund. Owners ere particularly requested to observe this Rule. I !l. No percentage deducted from Stakes. 10. Races Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 are for hacks only, Nos. 4, and 6 are open races.
