Berne, September 22. A workmen's Congress on Accidents has opened its sessions here. London, September 23. The carpenters' strika has already cost the Unions £50,000. At the Dockers' Congress, sitting at Hull, Ben Tillet, one of the leaders, stated that the Union was vastly gaining strength, and would within a short period number 120,000 membeis. St Pktersbekg, September 23. The navvies engaged in the construction of the Amoor section cf the Siberian railway have struck, owing to the contractor supplying them with food which they allege is not fit for consumption, Cmiistchurch, September 28. At a meeting of the Labour Fay Demonstration Committee to-nigAt it was decided to have no intoxicating liquors at the sports. It v-as also decided to ask the City Council to declare a holiday on Labour Day, and to aßk the Employers' Association to co-operate in making the demonstration a success.
