No entry will be received for any raeo except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall bo decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and their decision on all points SHALL BE FINAL. 3. All Nominations, Entries, and Acceptances (to be made in writing, addressed to tho Secretary at the Observer Office, Carterton), will be reoeived up to tho arrival of the late train from Wellington on tho advertised date of closing. No nominations or acceptances will be received on any pretence whatever unless accompanied by tho necessary fee. 4. A Hack shall mean a horse never started for, or is entered for, a weighr^ for age or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies, Champagnes, or Guineas to be run for thin : racing season: hack races excepted _ • 6. In all Nominations for Hand leaps th» performances of the horse, name of owner and colors of rider must bo given. All horse" to be ridden in distinguishing colors. , 6. Any protest must bo lodged with tho Secretary in writing within ten minutes after the race to which it refers has been run, and must be accompanied by 2 sovs., which will be returned only if the protest is sustained. 7. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent of the Stakes. .... 8. All peraons intending to withdraw horses are requested to give notice tn writing to the Secretary half an hour before tho officinl time of starting such race. Any person negleoting or refusing to comply with this rulo shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding £5, which Bhall be placed to the credit of the race fund.
