[By Telegraph.] (United Press Association.) m The Ohristohuroh ScatSir Robert stoat Declines nomination. Dunedin, Saturday. Sir R. Stout has received telegrams from all parts of the country, urging him to contest the Christchurch seat, tie has definitely replied declining as, his engagements will not permit. Boating Accident. Gisbokne, September 18. The boat which capsiaed in Waipiro Bay was returning from the steamer after embarking Mrs Wallis, when ,41k was overturned by a heavy eea. Messrs Wallis, Longlands (commercial traveller), Gellender, Talbot, Neilson and Liddle comprised tho crew. Wallis was nearly drowned trying to Bave Neilson. Connelly, hotelkeeper, saved Gellender's life by swimming oil' from the shore with a rope. A search party has been organised to patrol the beaoh , for the bodies of those drowned.
