VOLUNTEERING.

The weekly parade of tbo Masterton Rifle Volunteers was held in the Drill Hall last (Thursday) evening, 49, rank and file, answering to the roll call. Captain Pownall was in command, and the whole of the officers were present. The men were put through skirmishing order and other exercises by Sergeant Major Finn. A general meeting was held after parade, at which the balance-sheet of the recent ball was submitted, showing a credit balance. Other business of a routine character was transacted. It is enconraging to note that the Masterton Rifle Volunteers are now in a more flourishing condHion than ever before. '
