Mr Rolleston's motion toeing lost by 40 to 25. AUCKLAND ELECTBIC LIGHTING BILL. '• ' Messrs Shera, R. Thompson, and Lawry were appointed a committee to draw np reasons for disagreeing with the amendments made iu this Bill by the Legislative Council. LOCAL .BILLS. . The remainder of the afternoon was . taken up by Local Bills. Mr Duncan moved the second reading of the Waimate Hospital District Bill, the debate on which, on the motion of Mr Hall Jones, whs adjourned for a fortnight. The second reading of the ' River ton Harbour Board Empower-. ing Bill was moved by Mr Mackintosh and agreed to after some discussion. The # was then considered in Comand met with a great deal of opposition, which resulted in its being talked out. ELECTORAL BILL. The Premier moved that the House" . disagree with certain amendments ; made in the Electoral Bill by the Legislative Council, and that the managers be appointed to draw up .reasons for such disagreement. The motion was agreed to on the voices. THE LAND BILL. The reasons for dissenting from the amendments made ia this Bill by the Legislative Council, submitted by the managers, were adopted. THE ESTIMATES. The Honse then went into Committee of Supply for the consideration of the Estimates.
