ROAD BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Eketabuna Road Board was held oil Saturday, September 12th. PresentMessrs W. B, Mathieaon (Chairman), A. Anderson, Magnus Neilsen, Thos. Parsons, F. Dowsett, and W. Baylias. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence, From Secretary to tha Treasury, enclosing voucher for £IOO and informing the Board that the meney would be here in a tew days. From Mr King, informing the Board that he had made a mistake in the date ot the Board meeting, having- noted it for next Saturday,—Resolved that a special metting be held on Saturday, the 19th, to give Mr Kins; time to inspect contracts and pass progress payments. From Bank New Zealand informing the Board of receipt of £IOO and same had been placed to account. From same, acknowledging remittal of £l4 17s 8d and other amounts. From A. Whitside, asking permission to fall the corner of the road past his section No 2, section 12, S.S. From F. G. Moore tendering account for 12s, part of the Board's advertisement re adjusting boundaries.

From W. B. Grey, informing the Board that part of the thirds weie placed to the account of the Eketa* huna Board.

From Mr W. B. Lowes, asking the Board to take steps to raise £IOO for making a bridge and about 80 chains to his section.—Resolved that Mr Lowes be informed of his letter having been received, and tb&.t a full answer be sent abouti September*2lst. It was also resolved that Mr King be in* structed to make an estimate of the work required by Mr Lowes on Tawaitai road.

From Mr Carter, asking that a por« tion ot' the township rates be spent ou Cartar street, so as to give access to the Oddfellows' Hall, and and Mb own house.—Resolved, That Mr King be instructed to have a culvert 66ft long and Ift wide, and covered with Ift of earth put in. GENERAL. Mr Parsons was instructed to have four rata trees cut down on the Parkville Government Reserve Road, and not to exceed 20s. PAY SHEET. J. Payton and Co., £5 7s 8d; Wairarapa North County, 12s ; T. Bayliss, £7; W. Bayliss, £2 14s ; J. A.. Royd, XI 10s; Blundell Bros, £l. This being all the business, the meeting adjourned.
