Races' to be run under Metropolitan Boles. 2. will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising .shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and their decision on all points SHALL BE FINAL. 8. All Nominations, Entries, and Acceptances (to be made in writing, addressed to the Secretary at the Observer Office, Carterton), will be received up to the arrival of the late train from "Wellington on the advertised date of closing. No nominations or acceptances will be received on any pretence'whatever unless accompanied by the necessary fee. 4. A Hack shall mean a horse that has never started for, or is entered for, a weight for age or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies, Champagnes, or Guineas to be run for this racing season: hack races excepted. 5. Li all Nominations for Handicaps the name, age, pedigree, color, sex, and previous performances of the horse, name of owner and colors of rider must be given. All horses to be ridden in distinguishing colors. _ ft. Any protest must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within ten minutes after the race to which it refers has been run, and must be accompanied by 2 sovs., which will be-returned only if the protest is sustained. -7. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent of the Stakes. 8. All persons - intending to withdraw hones are requested to give notice in writing to the Secretary half an hour before the official time of starting such race.
