ROAD BOARD.

' The ordinary monthly meeting of the UpperTaueru Road Board was held on Saturday, September 5. Present : Messrs C. E. Cockburn-Hood (Chairman), . . Property. Tax Departmsnt, stating that vouchers have been sent to tbe Treasury for payment of .£2O Is Od, amount of subsidy due for tbe year 1891-91, payable under the Local Bodies Finance and Powers Act, 1885, and section 8 of the Appropriation Act, 1890".

Thai the roadman be instructed to obtain a load of willows to be planted at once at the foot of tbe blue clay slip on the Glendonald road, and also at Miller's cutting «nd the junction of the Wainuioniapu; and to thcr« oughly secure the blue clay slips by fastening, etc; and that the roadman be authorised to make arrangements for the haulage of material. ' .That the roadman shall proceed to Messrs Pontoon Bros, work, on condition that assistance is given to the roadman while he is engaged on the work; the lioe to be fell half a chain wid& Gfflat afterwards the roadman shall do the work for Messrs Lang and Nicbolis as granted at last meeting. That a rate of fd in the £ be levied on all the rateable property of the district, payable on the Ist day of October, 1891. That the next meeting of the Board be held on the first Saturday m November.
