TINUI NOTES.

(From our own Correspondent.)

A meeting of ratepayers in the Cas'tlepoirit district has been called for Friday, 11th September, to consider the expediency of striking an additional rate, to assist the County Council in the repairs and maintenance of the Coun'y roads in this district. What the outpqme of this will be it is hard to say, The County roads require a deal of money to put them in good order, and on the other hand many of the outlying settlers are without roads at all, and will want the Road Board to assist them. The lambing season is progressing most favorably, and the" weather all that could be desired. Spring feed is tolerably plentiful, and the grass can be almost seen' growing. The season is well on along the coast, and one hundred per CCS* wiu be the] rusult on many runs it present favorable conditions continue, Mr Leonard Bushby still lies in a I critical state. As he and his family are in destitute circumstances a com mittee consisting of Messrs Lawson, Norton and Maunsell junr., have been appointed to canvas for subscriptions on behalf of thp Bushby family. Mr B. Maunsell, senr., has consented to act as Trustee to receive and disburse the funds, and a balance sheet will be published per favor of the Waibarafa' Daily. As there have been no more cases of " Bologne sore throat" or diphtheria in the Tinui district, the school, after being well fumigated, was reopened on Monday last.
