Weights declared on MONDAY, October 26th. and Entries for Maiden Plate, MONDAY, November 2nd. RULES & REGULATIONS. 1. Races be run under Metropolitan Rules. 2. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and their decision on all points SHALL BE FINAL. 3. All Nominations, Entries, and Acceptances (to be made in writing, addressed to the Secretary at the Observer Office, Carterton), will be received up to the arrival of the late train from "Wellington on the advertised date of closing. No nominations or acceptances will be received on any pretence whatever unless accompanied by the necessary fee. 4. A Hack shall mean a horse that has Barer started for, or is entered for, a weight for age or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies, Champagnes, or Guineas to be run for this racing season: hack races excepted. 5. In all Nominations for Handicaps the name, age, pedigree, color, sex, and previous performances of the hone, name of owner and colors of rider must be given? All hones to be ridden in distinguishing colon. 6. Any protest must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within ten minutes after the race to which it refen has been run, and must be accompanied by 2 sovs., which will 7. Hones walking over will receive 50 per cent of the Stakes. 8. All peraons intending to withdraw hones are requested to give notice in writing to the Secretary half an hour before the official time of starting such race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by she Stewards, not exceeding £5, which snaU be placed to the credit of the race fund.
