RULES &. REGULATIONS. 1. Races to be run under Metropolitan Rule*. . 2. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall he decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and their decision on all points SHALL BE FINAL. 3. All Nominations, Entries, and Acceptances (to be made in writing, addressed to the Secretary at the Observer Office, Carterton)! will be received up to the arrival of the »late train from Wellington on the advertised fcfate of closing* No nominations or acceptances will be received on any pretence whatever unless accompanied by the necessary fee. 4. A Hack shall mean a horse that has never started for, or is entered for, a weight for age or handicap at time of starting, and has not been nominated for Derbies, Champagnes, or Guineas to be run for thfa racing season: hack races excepted. 5. In all Nominations for Handicaps the name, age, pedigree, eolor, sex> and previous performances of the horse, name of o'.vner and colors of rider must be given. All horses to be ridden in distinguishing colors. 6. Any protost must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within ten minutes after the race to which it refers has been run, and must be accompanied by 2 sovs., which will be returned only if the protest is sustained. 7.* Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent of the Stakes. 6. All persons intending to withdraw horses are requested to give notice m writing to the Secretary half an hour before the official time of starting such race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule; shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding £5, which shall be placed to the credit of the race fund. Owners are particularly requested to observe this Rule. , _ , 9. No percentage deducted from Stakes. 10.
