The football match between the printers and the fire brigades, which was to have been played on the Park Oval on Saturday, was abandoned, a neither side could get together a team.

A very successful practice match was played on the Park Oval on Saturday, an excellent display of the game being made.

In the scratch match played on the Park Oval on Saturday Mr A D'Arcy had one of his fingers broken, Mr C. Bannister's head was severely cut, and several other players were more or less injured.

According to a Nelson paper, salmon have been seen in the river in the JRaf Valley, Pelorus, by an experienced angler. The salmon were placed in the river twelve years ago, but it was feared they had died out.
