Quite a flatter of excitement was noticed amongst the old habitues of Mincing Lane, London, when some magnificent samples of • top-tipped leaf' tea was sold at a pnce a short time ago. Since then quite a craze has set in in hlngland for really fine tea, and low grade qualities are at a discount. In this colony really fine tea was for many years a luxury. VTOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Council at a meeting to be held on the - 10th DAY of SEPTEMBER, 1891, to strike the following rates for the year ending 31st March, 1892: A General Rate over the whole County of 3-16ths of a penny in the £, A Separate Rate in the Riding of Masterton of 7«l6ths of a penny in the£. A Separate Rate in the Riding of Alfredton of 7-16!hs of a penny in the £. A Separate Rate in the Riding of Eketahuna of i penny in the £. A Separate Rate In the Riding of Castle Point of 9-16ths of a penny in the £. A Separate Rate in the Riding of \* ainuioru of 3-16ths of a penny in the£. A General Rate in the Whareama Outlying District of 3-4ths of a penny in the £. The above Rates will be made on the Rateable Value tor the time being, of all the rateable property within the said County Ridings and Outlying District respectively, and will be payable at the County Offices, Masterton, in one instalment, on the 15th day of SEPTFMBER, 1891.
