Suloi&i of J. Aitkea Connell. Auckland, August 21. Mr. J. Aitken Connell had been in indifferent health for sonqe tiiqe past. Thp remarks he made to his friends on leaving Auckland on Thursday,- and the directions which he gave for work to be done to-day, showed that be did not then contemplate any violent act. .Mr. Gpnnell, before tjie party started, asked Mr, Jordoo to take care of him, as be was not well and required attention, It appears he had be«n suffering from carbuncles, Ever since he had contested the Eden electorate with Mr. Mitchelson he has not been the same man, and the excitement of politics bad apparently destroyed the balance of his mind.
