TOWN BOARD

An adjourned meeting of the Pabiatua' Town Board waa held on Monday night. Present—Messrs J. Dawson (chairman), H. Sedcole, Barrows, Naylor, and Reese. ESTIMATES. For the purpose of striking a general rate for 1891-92, the estimates (as prepared by the Finance Committee) were adopted. BATE. A general rate of £d in'the £ was struck. ACCOUNTS. Mr Toss will's account, £l4 8s 4d (refund of half-share of farming and metalling Wakeman-street) was passed for payment. Two other small accounts were also passed. OUTSTANDING BATES. The Clerk was instructed to sue (if necessary) for all outstanding rates, he to receive a commission of 10 per cent, on all rates collected whioh haye been due over twelve months. GOOD TEMPLARS. It was agreed to allow the Good Templars to use the hall once a week at 2s 6d per meeting. CREWE-STREET. The Chairman of Works Committee was authorised to confer with the Engineer for the purpose of having the work required on Crewe-street carried out. DAWSON-STREET. Resolved that tenders be called for forming and metalling 8 chains of Dawson-street. MANGAHAO ROAD. The Engineer recommended that rough metal should be put on the Mangahao Road at once ; it would be impassable in a short time if something were not done.
