Thames, August 10, A young man named Neavo was . fined in the Court here to-day for assaulting his father and resisting the police, but the ciroumstanoet were such that the magistrate did not ieel called upon to bind him over in any way. The lad on one ooeasion lately, in handing over to his mother his fortnight's pay of 86s, kept baok 4s, an unusual thing with him, and his lather to punish him hid away his good clothes, so that the youth could not go out on the Sunday evening. On Saturday night thereupon the lad, who neither drinks nor smokes, threatened to break open hia sister's grave and burn his father's house, and generally " raise Cain." the father then wont for a constable, who, however, found the young man asleep in bed at 7 on Saturday evening, and it was then, when the lad was awoke, that the so-called assault was committed on the father, and resistance offered to the police.
