CORRESPONDENCE.
Poisoning l of Dogs(to the editor.) g IR ,—Permit me to make a few remarks in your valuable paper for the benefit of drovers, &c. Dog poisoning has been carried on for gome mouths in the Mauriceville district, and some very valuable dogs have been destroyed by some malicious person wilfully placing poison upon the public highway. No blame can be attached to a person for poisoning his own property, proviling he complies with the Act and gives due notice of his intention to do so, but when a man is sufficiently degraded to wreak his vengeance upon another by administering poison indiscriminately in the form I have described, his conduct is reprehensible to a degree, and should not go unpunished. I advise persons who do not wish to lose their dogs to watch them carefully on that portion of the road between the Camp and North Mauriceville. I am, &c, Pro Bono Publico. Roll Stuffing.
[TO THE EDITOR.I
Sib,—lt is rumoured that an attempt will be made to stuff the roll at the Council meeting tonight. Our Mayor knows the law, and will put his foot down on this attempt. I am, etc., Fair Play.
