CEMETERY TRUST.

The ordinary quarterly meeting of the Masterton Cemetery Trust was held last evening. Present—Messrs Payton (in the chair), Galloway, Feist, Hourigan, and Perry. The mioutes of the previous meeting having been confirmed, the treasurer reported a credit balance., of £29 5s Id. ..... —-""

Some routine business having been despatched, a letter was read from the Town Clerk enclosing a plan and specification of a csorgue estimated to cost £75, and asking the Trust for a site, and a contribution towards the cost of the structure.

It was agreed to grant a site on the reserve adjacent to the burial ground, and on the question of a grant-in-aid, Mr Feist pointed out that the Borough, the County, and the Road District, might be expected to contribute, and proposed that the Ceme» tery Trust give a sum of £25.

The Chairman expressed an opinion that this sum was unnecessarily large, as private subscriptions from " ihlicaua towards the cost of such a building might De ua,ulv ' After some discussion, on the motion of Mr Galloway, seconded by Mr Hourigan, it was decided to give a sum of £2O.

The Custodian reported that the lease of the Cemetery Reserve paddock expired current month, and to obtain offers for a same for five, oi^^^^^^^L^^g^Jf
