WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.

A meeting of members and those interested in the Wairarapa Hunt Club was held at the Club Hotel, Masterton, on Saturday evening, about fifty persons being present. The chair was occupied by Mr W. E. Bidwill. The Chairman said they had met together to see if it was not possible to get a unanimity in Club matters. If a United Club were formed they could have an executive committee au each end of the district, besides a management committee. The stamina of people, as well as of hor3es, was brought out by hunting, and people were afforded an opportunity of meeting together in a friendly spirit. At least £3OO a year was required to maintain the hounds. The Wellington Club had looked to Hawke'sßay and the Wairarapa.for support, but he did not think they had met with the support they expected. Mr 0. F. Vallance moved, "That the Masterton people unite in supporting the Wairarapa Hunt Club as at present constituted." Mr E. S. Hirschberg seconded. Mr Crawford assured those present that if they meant hunting they could have it at a much cheaper rate than at present. The Chairman said there were 130 members on the books at present. The motion was put and carried unanimously. The Chairman was pleased that the resolution was carried. He believed they would have.a Club they might well be proud of. Iu repty'to Mr Macara, Mr Craw-

ford said the hunting season lasted five months.

The following executive committee was appointed -.—Messrs J Macßae, W McKenzie, W Hawke, A Elkins, W B Buick. C P Vallance, T P Lett, W Hirschberg, J Macara, H G Williams, ,1 Renall,' EID Whatman, J W Proctor, F Armstrong, and J Morrison, with power to add to their number.
