A young husband was sued at the St. Kilda Court the other day for £l7 10s for meala supplied to him while ke was courting his young wife. He was ordered to pay £lO 10s. Mr Courtney is well advertising Taranaki in London. "Anglo-Australian," in the European Mail, writes:—"Passing down Holborn on April 211 was not a little struck with a somewhat novel and ingenious way of advertising the fertility and natural charms of at least one considerable section of the Britain of the South. On an ordinary fruit barrow -vas a big legend, running "Taranaki, the Garden of the universe," and then, where lie usually the fruit to be retailed, was a crop of Binart paper-covered books, con. taining full infoination as to what and where Taranaki is. Thejbarrow seemed to attract quite a fair share of attention, and decidedly it is a novel idea."
