A sitting of the R.M. Court was held at Carterton this morning by Colonel Roberts, 8.M., to, hear objections (if any) to the electoral roll of the Wairarapa South County. As there were no objections the roll was passed, The petition againßtthe election of the Masterton Borough licensing Committee was tiled by Messrs W. G. Beard andC. A. Pownall, who are acting In con« junotion, to day. There are nine grounds on which it is alleged the election is invalid.
Mr Robert Heard, representative of Messrs Hoffmann and Sons, is again in Masterton, and is prepared to undertake tuniug or repairing of pianos, organs, etc. Orders left at Holmes' or the Club Hotel will receive prompt attention.
A meeting of the Works and Finance Committee, of the Masterton Borough Council was held last evening. Presenters Heron (chairman), Mutrie, Gapper and B. E. Chamberlain. Accounts as presented were recommended for payment. The Fire Brigade report was considered, and it was deoided that a bonus of £26 be granted towards the uniform and plant fund, £l2 10s to be paid at once and the balance in six months. 1 The Overseer's report was also read, and certain works recommended to be gone on with,-
