[ Freeman R. Jackson and Co.'a Johnsonville stock report Fat cattle below ÜBual supply and short of requirements, were from light to " medium weights and generally good in quality. Prices advanced fully 8s in the" 1001b, and readily made 17s tie 1001b throughout. Sheep abun> dant; the wettera light weight and the ewes irregular, with nothing prime in . the , yards. All. cleared speedily At low rates. For piga - there was a good demand for baconers, > but porkers and stores declined uDOu recent prices.
P. H. Wood reports of the Stock sale, held by him at his Taratahi - _ yards "as - follows :—Entries were -i small, and the demand for both sheep and cattle far exceeded the supply. j All sold readily under the hammer, t realized being fully equal to last sale rates for similar class of ' stock and as Ifeder : Sheep—fiwes in lamb 9s 7d to 10s 9d, 2 tooth, ewes ,and wethers 12s 9d. Cattle —Galves - 19s, forward beef heifers 72s 6d, dairy - cows 45s to 80s, store cows 25s to 40s.
