Embezzlement of Gotmty Puids. Auckland, May 80. The county rate collector at Dargaville, Mr P. L. Beart, bas been arrested on a charge of embezzling L4O belonging lo the county. He was brought before Messrs'G.'M. Dargaville and P. Norton, J.P.'S, at the Dargaville Police Court to-day, when the case was remanded until Tuesday. Bail was refused, Two other charges are pending against the accused. MiBeat was greatly respected in the district, and much sympathy is felt for his wife and children,
