FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union was held at Carterton last evening, delegates being present from the various Clubs of the district, and Mr S. Nicholls presiding.
After some discussion it was decided that the first round of the Cup matches be played as already arranged. A request from the Whareama Club ihaji gqms pf the Cup matches be played in Tenui was not acceded to. '"'"-
Amongst the correspondence was a protest from the Red Star second, claiming the match played with Greytown second on Saturday last on account of a Native playing who had
taken part in a previous match.Tiie protest was upheld, and the match awarded to the Stars. Considerable discussion took place about the action of the Te Ore Ore Club in classifying its teams, and it was considered that there were groundd For complaint. A committee of one member of each club was appointed to classify players. The second round for the Senior Cup nas then drawn. The following team will represent Pahiatua in the Cup match with Eketahuna on Monday next: —T. Hall; Brougbton (2), T. Hodgins; J. Gosling, F. Morris ; J. McCardle, F. Perry, F. H. Vile, J. Williams, F. Sayers, C. Morris, Hempton, E. Vine, and G. Eaton. The following is the Grey town second fifteen that play the Oriental first on Monday next, at Greytown : —Backs, Udy, Tukey, Tinga, Danger, Rutine, Wood and Nicholls ; forwards, Beard, Reuben, King, Amos, Manehera, Mitchell, Ingley, and D Udy. Emergencies, Rune and Jacobs. The < >rientals will bo represented by the undermentionedplayers: —Backs, Read, Wood, Drummond, Driscoll, Jones, Goomley, and Hood; forwards, Kawson, Roe, Sanderson, Mcßack, Murdock, Bolt, Tattle, and Seagar.
