STOCK REPORT.
At Messrs Lowes and lorns' Stock Sale yesterday, the entries wore fairly numerous of both sheep and cattle, the quality being exceptionally good, and, us might be expected, the demand was great and the bidding throughout unusually spirited. Of the 2000! sheep yarded, 1800 were lambs,-and' the prices " the highest of the season." Best pens realized lis 2d to lis 6d ; best shorn 9s 6d to 10s 9d ; other qualities 7s Id. to 9s; empty ewes, low in condition and aged, 7s 7d-j better sorts Qs 6d to 9» 9d ; small, low conditioned wethers, 12s 4d ; fat ewes, medium, 12s to 12s 9d. The cattle, J4O head, were good sorts all round, and sold treely } beef steers £sr 5s ; stores 77s to 84s ; 2 year steers 50s to 56s ; heifers ftjom 36s to 50s j beef heifers and cows 63s to 84s ; Yearlings 80s ; weaners, 21s to 265. A good number of pigs were yarded, all weaners, which sold for 5s Qd to 7& 6d each. A dozen horses were offered, only one common hack finding a purchaser at 70s. The 120 Hawke's Bay horges sold by the firm lately have evidently stocked the market in fdoe of the wihtir,
