Mr F. H. Wood reports of the stock Bale at Emslyn Farm, Ponatahi, yeß- j terday, on account of Mr G. A. Fair- j brother, as follows :—There was a very large attendance of buyers from; all parts of the Wairarapa, and some from Wellington. The bidding I throughout the sale was spirited and j animated, every line selling under the hammer, at prices which must have proved highly satisfactory to the vendor. Over 4000 sheep were sold ind realised prices rally equal to anything yet sold in,tbe Wairarapa; being as under wethers (small), 10s 7d to ewes in lamb to Lincoln ramlicls to lis lOd; ewes in lamb to Cotewold rams, 8s 9d to 9s 7d; Shropshire ewes in lamb to champion Shropshireram,24s;lambs, Sajjd to 7s 6d f Lincoln rams averaged 2 guineas; other breeds, aged, 7s 6d to 1 guinea. Horses—Draught, aged, £5 10s to £l7 ; hacks, £8 to £l2 15s; fillies, yearlings, £3 to £B.
