Mauriceville Road Board.
The adjourned meeting of the Mauriceville Road Board was held on Saturday, May 16th. PresentMessrs Gunderson (chairman), Drew, Forsberg, Bannister, and Jackson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed with correspondence outwards. Mr G. Gunderson was unanimously re-elected chairman.
Letters were read from the Surveyor General re roads in Hastwell V.S., and enclosing application forma for payment of money in connection with this worfe. From Colonial Secretary re gazetting result of elections and publication of special order for loan of £I6OO.
The following tenders were received for fencing Johnston's Boad:—C. _ —• tlsllid perohain(acoepted), Peters**- - *-.„ £is Megßrß Messrs Tait and tor*,, ' ~ Kjestrup and Madsen lGs Ou r . ch, Lars Neilsen 12a 6d per ch, C. Larsen 14a 3d per ch, Messrs Eossiter and Lucas £56 7s, P. C. Madsen £4B 15s. For 15 chains formation on Dryer's Rock Eoad P. Neilson, £ 2 Is 3d (accepted), P. C. Madsen, i£ll,W. Gi'-dwood, £52 10s.
A large number of tenders were received for Dryer's Book Boad Extention and Wangaehu Road contracts. After a careful consideration the Board deoided to accept the following tenders conditionally upon the loan for this work being received from Government:—M. P. Britt's tenders for contracts No 41 and 42 at £256 and £204 respectively; P. Carr's tenders for contracts 43 and 44 at £BO9 and £134 18s 6d respectively ; M. Kelliher's tender for contract 45 at £2 6s 6d per chain. No tenders were accepted for the bridges.
