THE WATER CHANNELS.
(To the Editor.) Bib, —I wonder that the authorities o! Masti-rton don't feenp the water channels in better order without their attention drawn to it, The water is oontinually running over the road, add a person would require to have gum boots should he want to avoid doctor's bills. Some people ■ay the town is flooded only in tbe event of a heavy fall of rain, bnt it eppears that the channels don't carry water in any sort of weather. The bars placed at the end of the culverts to keep the way clear only gather rubbish, and were it not for the toffs cleaning it away with their walking sticks as they pass, we would be soaked a little more. Let the authorities knock thode bars out of the ends of the culverts with a hammer and then there will be less jamming up, and less swamping ot t':e roads, and if they do knock those bars out and 6nd it a success, their common sense will convince them of the long dreamed remedy which is set before them through your paper.—l am, Ae., Nou de Plume.
