A social gathering is to be held in tho Wesleyar Church this evening to afford the Rev J. Duces an opportunity of becomin? more intimately acquainted with those to whom he ministers. The Rev Dukes is a very energetic and earnesfrworker in the Christian cause, and a gathering such as that to be held this evening is calculated t<* materially assist him in his mission. We trust, therefore, to see a good attendance.

A nasty accident occurred at Mr T. Price's sawini l !, Mauriceville, the other day, to Mr J. Askew, who was working the horses on the tram. Whilbt taking two bridge stringers, it appears he jumped off to stop the horses, and in doing so fell wiih his foot across the rail. The result was that the truck ran over his ankle.
